Smart Safety

Tools and training, developed by U.S. Special Ops veterans, for individuals and organizations to plan, alert, and react to emergencies.

1. Smart alerts for your smart phone.

The Mayday system allows information to be clearly transmitted AND received. Other systems (fire alarms, sirens, other apps) only alert of a problem – they don’t provide a solution.

Under our current system you can only call 911 and wait.

But did you know that most 911 services can not locate you by your phone and they relie on you to tell them where you are?

What happens if do not know your precise location? Or worse, the first responders don’t know that location?

Delays cost lives.  The FCC estiamtes up to 10,000 live a year could be saved with better location information.

Even with your location, 911 services take your information and relay it to the appropriate emergency personnel.

Minutes in delay can cost lives.

Call security,
Do you have the number
Do you have time to look it up.
Are you able to talk, could be health related or you are hiding.
They do not know exactly where you are without you giving them that information.
What happens if more attackers show up, how do you let security know.

Mayday Pro

Mayday Pro is our paid/enterprise solution which allows organizations to manage Mayday App users in their organizations.

A safety manager in an organization may determine which messages and tasks are sent in an emergency (e.g  teachers can receive the message to lock classrooms and check-in when complete) and can easily see the current status of everyone in an organization.

With quick status updates and predetermined roles, organizational safety is faster and easier.

Find a Solution

Dumb Alerts vs. Smart Alerts

“Dumb Alerts” notify of a problem

Standard alert systems only notify your organization that a problem exists.

Fire alarms, sirens, and other apps only let people know that a problem exists. They are prone to false alarms and they don’t communicate what the problem is nor how to react. Should people evacuate? Should they lock-down?

Public address systems and phone calls can provide details and instructions but they require information about the threat to be sent to a centralized source which may not be accessible.

Also, there’s no way to know who received the message, how people have responded, and who is safe/who needs extra help.

Worse yet, some notification systems, such as text-messages or emails, may be missed entirely by the members of your organization!

These systems have a few things in common:

  • They only alert of a problem,
  • They can be missed and/or misinterpreted, and
  • They don’t allow for feedback

RESULT: Chaos and confusion. Not knowing what to do can leave your members panicked and vulnerable. Not knowing the status of your members prevents you from being able to control and manage the situation.

“Smart Alerts” provide a solution

The Mayday System allows everyone in your organization to send and receive a Smart Alert.

Mayday doesn’t just notify that a problem exists, it can provide pre-set messages to certain user groups and allow real-time messaging to everyone. Mayday also allows for feedback and status updates.

For example, teachers can receive an immediate “lock-down” and “check-in” alert.

Instead of wondering what is going on and what to do, teachers can quickly lock-down their classroom and check-in safe. This allows a rapid response that can be tracked by leadership and first responders on the Mayday dashboard.

Leadership can also choose to verify all alerts before sending them out to everyone. This helps to prevent false alarms and it identifies exactly who made the alert and where they are.

The Mayday system:

  • Alerts and provides a solution,
  • Allows for effective managment,
  • Leverages everyone as part of a safety team, and
  • Allows for communication and feedback

RESULT: Informed and deliberate response. Everyone is part of your safety system and can work towards a solution.

“Mayday, Mayday, Mayday!”

This is the universal call of distress.

It is used by aircraft and ships, world-wide, to alert anyone and everyone that a crisis is occuring and help is needed immediately.

The Mayday system was designed and developed by former military special operations members. The need for clear communication and control in emergencies was obvious.

The natural choice for the system’s name, and method of operation, was something that everyone would recognize and understand.

“Mayday, Mayday, Mayday!”

The system needs to be easy to activate.

The three calls of Mayday are unmistakeable. Therefore, an alert is sent from a user’s smartphone by either tapping the “Mayday” button three times -OR- by simply calling out to the smart phone’s voice recognition system.

For example, “Hey Siri, Mayday, Mayday, Mayday” will instantly send an alert from an iPhone.
