After we heard about Kyle Plush, a high-schooler who died trapped behind the seat of a car because 911 couldn’t find him, we decided to make the Mayday Safety™personal safety app free for everyone in the world.
We are special operations veterans, fathers, and husbands who create technology for emergencies and empower users to be prepared and be safe.

Q: Does Mayday Safety automatically call 911?
A: No. The Free Mayday Safety™ App does NOT automatically call 911. However there is an upgrade available for organizations to automatically call 911 or a designated dispatch center following a Mayday alert.
There are a few reasons for this: First, we don’t want false alarms to involve 911 or emergency services when they may not be needed. Second, we don’t want to circumvent or replace 911. Third, Mayday Safety is a worldwide safety solution and many countries do not have a “911-style” system.
Q: How many people can I add in my free app?
A: You may add up to 10 people in your app. You must both add each other, however, it is not necessary that each of your lists are the same.
For example, you may add a friend (and they must add you back), but each of your other 9 people on your lists may be different.
Q: Can I use Mayday Safety for my workplace, school, or house of worship?
A: Yes! In fact, this is EXACTLY why Mayday Safety was designed.
Your organization can use our dashboard or other upgrades to manage the users in an organization, see alerts on a map, and communicate with users by group and location.
Q: Does this only work in the U.S.?
A: No, Mayday Safety works world-wide! If you’ve got a cell or wifi signal, it works.
Q: Does the app track my location?
A: You are in complete control of what information you’d like to share with our system. When you set up the app, you can choose to share your location only while the app is open and being used or at all times. Either way the app only tracks or shares your location during a Mayday emergency.
Q: Is the Mayday Safety app really free?
A: Yes, the Mayday Safety app is 100% free.
We had a choice and realized that we’d rather have families around the world safe rather than make extra money.
Organizations pay a subscription fee so that we can offer the app free, world-wide, and there are plenty of upgrades and integrations for organizations to provide a comprehensive safety solution that secures the school or workplace.
Q: I'm a member of an organization that uses Mayday Safety, can I use this with another organization too?
A: Absolutely. This is one of our favorite features of Mayday Safety.
Whereas other solutions only work with one organization, Mayday Safety can work everywhere! This isn’t your organization’s app, it is YOUR app that works with your organization.
Q: Can my children use this?
A: If your child can be trusted with a smartphone, they should have Mayday Safety installed.
